Our 20-year high school reunion has now come and gone. The evening was enthusiastically celebrated by almost 400 people. There were lots of hugs and kisses and the camaraderie was as if only a few short years had passed. We shared many memories and warm feelings with the sounds of our 50's music playing in the background and friendships were indeed rekindled. Those of you who did not attend, you were asked about and looked for by old friends and you were missed. A Reunion Family Picnic followed on June 15, 1980 at Reseda Park. The Master of Ceremonies for the Thalian Class was Jack Ross and the awards given were: Ed Self - Changed the Most, Hal Bedsole - Changed the Least, Vicki (Baker) King - Married the Longest, Richard Halmos - Most Recently Married, Jheri (Savage) Bontempo - Most Children, Don DeMars - Youngest Child, Margaret (Mayes) Gray - First Child That Graduated From Reseda High School, Ralph & Sharon McDevitt and Steve & Marsha Heckathorn - First Grandparents, Dennis Hall - Most Times Married, Steve Francis - Traveled the Farthest. The Master of Ceremonies for the Saroyan Class was John Calvert and awards given were: Ronald G. Young - Changed the Most, Linda (Woolley) Bender - Changed the Least, Shirley (Jones) Gaskins - Married the Longest, Rick & Judi (Andrus) Kimball - Most Recently Married, Steve Ogden - Most Children, Ronald J. Young - Youngest Child, David Gray & Gwen (Roth) Fowler - First Child That Graduated From Reseda High School, Lynne Anderson - Most Times Married, Phyllis (Finkelstein) Cohen - Traveled the Farthest, and... a special award, The Person With the Most Bugs in Their Teeth was given to Ted Burge because he rode his motorcycle all the way from Georgia to attend the reunion. |
